Alongside the announcement of numerous games coming to Stadia by the end of 2020, Google also announced today that Stadia will get exclusives from Harmonix, Supermassive Games, and Uppercut Games.
Supermassive Games may be best known for Until Dawn and Hidden Agenda, and have recently been working on The Dark Pictures Anthology. Given the company’s recent track record, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them bring a survival horror or psychological action-adventure game to Stadia.
Then there’s Uppercut Games. Based out of Australia, this development studio has primarily worked on mobile games, according to the projects listed on its website. Though the 2014 Epoch is available on Steam as well as iOS. With fewer prior games to go off of, what Uppercut Games plans to bring to Stadia remains a tough question to answer.
Stadia Will Get Exclusives From Harmonix
With music game maker Harmonix on board, Google could be hoping to land a must-have exclusive on their streaming service. Having found much success with the Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Dance Central franchises, Harmonix may be able to bring a musically interested crowd to Google’s platform.
Google also announced a slew of games coming to Stadia in 2020. These include Harmonix’s Fuser. Other titles coming this year include Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Hitman 2, Hitman 3, Bomberman R Online, Serious Sam 4, and Dead by Daylight. It was also announced that Outriders and NBA 2K21 will be releasing on Stadia at the same time they release elsewhere. As a platform that has become known for getting titles later than other gaming platforms, securing some same-day releases may make Stadia a more appealing option for some.
