GSC Game World has released a brand new trailer for their upcoming open-world survival game, STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl. The game will be released for PC and as a console exclusive on Xbox Series X|S sometime in 2023, though the trailer did not provide a specific release window. The game is available for pre-order right now.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl Coming To PC and Consoles in 2023

The new trailer for STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl provided the first official footage of gameplay for the newest game by Ukrainian developer GSC Game World. This is the first official trailer for the game in six months, following the delay presented by the sudden Russian invasion of Ukrainian.

Described as a huge, borderless open world with a non-linear story, STALKER 2 is set in the post-apocalyptic CHernooblu Excluvise Zone. Players will need to survive in a unique dark science fiction setting and the world, brought to life by Unreal Engine 5.

It will be available in both physical and digital editions, and it is confirmed that it will feature multiplayer shortly after launch. No official launch date is confirmed at this time. The game was originally set to release on April 28, 2022, but got delayed back in January of this year to the now unknown date in 2023.

The game also going to have plans to add NFTs for players, but those were scrapped as well.

The new STALKER 2 trailer also confirmed that the game will be a day one launch on Xbox Game Pass on top of being console exclusive to the Xbox Series X|S.

Unfortunately, it was also recently confirmed elsewhere that Vladimir “Fresh” Yezhov, former GSC World designer and head developer of the original STALKER game, was killed last week due to the ongoing war in Ukraine. The development team at GSC world extended their regards to his family and he community for the work and passion he put into all of his projects, including STALKER.
