Stan Lee, the Marvel comics legend, died from heart and respiratory failure, TMZ has revealed.

The celebrity gossip site has managed to get hold of the comic book guru’s death certificate. At the bottom of the document, three causes are listed for the death of Stan Lee:

A) Cardiac Arrest

B) Respiratory Failure

C) Congestive Heart Failure

In the section stating other causes of death that do not result in the underlying cause, it is stated that Aspiration Pneumonia was a cause in Lee’s death. The document also reveals the exact time of the death of Stan Lee. He passed away on 11th November 2018 at 9:17 AM at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

His death has left a large hole in the hearts of fans worldwide. Following his passing, many famous people who respected him gave their tributes on Twitter. Meanwhile, Bill Maher was criticized for having a less-than-stellar opinion about the legacy of Stan Lee.

He would later clarify his blog post, however, in an interview with TV host Larry King. He said that he was “agnostic on Stan Lee” and never read comics, even as a child. He just felt that “a culture that thinks that comic books and comic book movies are profound meditations on the human condition is a dumb (expletive) culture. And for people to get mad at that just proves my point.”

Fans can expect to see the ‘Excelsior’ legend cameo in the upcoming Captain Marvel and Avengers 4. He had completed filming those scenes prior to his death. It is unknown if he had completed any more scenes for future films, but it appears unlikely at this point.
