It is with much distraught to inform you that Nathan Jung has unfortunately passed away. The Star Trek actor who was featured in Star Trek: The Original Series episode “The Savage Curtain” has had a great run in regards to Star Trek. However, due to unfortunate news, the actor has sadly left the scene.

Within The Savage Curtain episode, Nathan didn’t actually play the role of Genghis Khan, rather a historical recreation made by the alien Excalbian race. Where the Exalibians conveyed a plot to distinguish whether good was mightier than evil.

One of the many friends Nathan Jung has, Timothy Tau, confirmed his passing to Variety. However, the cause of death is still unknown. Whilst fans are eager to know, Nathan’s legacy will be carried on as well as remembered.

Jung’s past has been quite a ride, seeing as his height was the large factor that helped him land him some heavy roles on television. One being the obvious Genghis Khan within Star Trek. Other shows he was featured in were; The A-Team, MASH, Starsky & Hutch, CHiPs, General Hospital, Manimal, Riptide, and Hunter. He played Helen Funai’s cousin, Saburyo, in Sanford and Son and the Dark Rider in Kung Fu.

On top of that, Nathan Jung has been alongside the likes of Bruce Lee, and his son Brandon Lee. To where he played opposite Bruce within the episode Here Comes The Brides. Nathan worked with Brandon Lee twice throughout his career. First taking place in the 1991 film Showdown in Little Tokyo and again in 1992’s Rapid Fire.

In addition, the actor Peter Sinkoda, known for appearing in many other television shows such as Marvel’s Daredevil, posted a highlight reel containing Jung’s work amongst the years of his career. As well as a photo on Instagram in his remembrance.

Star Trek is now down a great actor who provided great scenes within the screenplay. Rest in peace Nathan, you will be missed.
