It’s safe to say that Brent Spiner is a Star Trek legend. His portrayal of Data in The Next Generation is right up there with anything the franchise has to offer, earning him fans the world over. If you count yourself among his legion of fans, I have good news. Brent Spiner is writing a memoir, with a twist.

Due to release on October 5, 2021, Brent Spiner’s Fan Fiction: A Mem-Noir will be a fictionalized take on his life. Sure, there will be some true aspects to it, but the book is only said to be inspired by real events. In an exclusive interview with Syfy Wire, Brent has given some insight about what to expect when the book releases later in the year, including if any Star Trek alum will make an appearance,

The book will feature a semi-fictional version of Spiner in 1991 who is said to be thrown into a darkly comedic adventure full of mystery, intrigue, and humor. This Brent Spiner is basking in the success from Star Trek: The Next Generation until he receives a mystery package of letters that send him on adventures that can save his life and career.

Brent had this to say about the book:

He did elaborate that Star Trek favorites, such as Patrick Stewart, will feature in the book, only as heightened versions of themselves, which only makes me think of Patrick Stewart’s character in American Dad.

Brent Spiner’s Fan Fiction: A Mem-Noir: Inspired by True Events will release on October 5.
