Are you ready to celebrate May the Fourth? The pop-culture phenomenon that is Star Wars has been entertaining us for over four decades now. With a total value of around 70 billion dollars, the Star Wars franchise just keeps giving us more and more entertainment to enjoy. There are few people out there who don’t love Star Wars, and we all can’t help but feel in the mood for some Star Wars fun this time of year. Especially when we have our very own Star Wars holiday to celebrate!

With so many different ways to celebrate May the Fourth, you could probably celebrate it every day, but let’s try and narrow it down. I’ve got 10 great ways to enjoy the fourth either by yourself, with friends, or with your kids. So, put on some good Star Wars tunes, put up a few decorations, and let’s get our party on!

10. A Star Wars Movie Marathon

If you are going to do a full Star Wars movie marathon, I hope you don’t have anything else to do because it’s gonna take you a while. It will actually take you over a full 24 hours. You can totally skip over Episode One and Two though (in my opinion).

Here is a list of all the Star Wars movies in chronological order:

  • The Phantom Menace
  • Attack of the Clones
  • Revenge of the Sith
  • Solo
  • Rogue One
  • A New Hope
  • The Empire Strikes Back
  • Return of the Jedi
  • The Force Awakens
  • The Last Jedi
  • The Rise of Skywalker

If you don’t want to watch the movies, however, there is also a Vintage Star Wars Collection available on DisneyPlus just in time for May the Fourth. It includes titles such as The Story of the Faith Wookie, the Ewoks animated series, and the 2D Clone Wars micro-series.

9. May the Fourth Be With You Crafts

I have a friend that crocheted a tiny Grogu, and it is possibly the cutest thing on earth. If you are creative, a great way to have some fun on the fourth would be to get crafty! You could paint a picture, or even build some awesome furniture. If you have kids, this is probably the best way to celebrate the fourth with them.

Whether you want to make some crafts for your kids or yourself, there are a ton of really cool crafts that you could make on the fourth. The Star Wars website has a pretty cool list of crafts as well. Here is a list of 5 different crafts you could make:

  • Jewelry- earrings or necklaces
  • T-shirts – tie-dyed Star galaxy shirts!
  • Bookmarks
  • X-mas Decorations
  • Wall-art

8. Star Wars Boardgames

As such a massive entertainment franchise, there are Star Wars toys, puzzles, video games, movies, shows, and more, but I particularly love the board games. Playing board games is such a great way to pass your time and interact with your family or friends without staring into a screen. Luckily for us Star Wars fans, there are tons of awesome Star Wars board games to play while we celebrate. Whether you are playing by yourself or with others, Star Wars has got you covered.  Here is a list of 10 great board games to get:

  • Star Wars Risk
  • Star Wars: Legion
  • Star Wars: Force and Destiny
  • Star Wars: X-Wing
  • Star Wars: Armada
  • Star Wars: Rebellion
  • Star Wars: Imperial Assault
  • Star Wars: Empire vs. Rebellion
  • Star Wars Monopoly
  • Star Wars Trivial Pursuit

7. Make Some Star Wars Munchies

Grogu in The Mandalorian was always on the hunt for snacks… just like me! Let’s make some Star Wars-inspired Snacks! Whether you want something sweet, salty, or both, there are so many cool ways to cook up something Star-Warsy. You can make an entire Star-Wars-inspired supper for your friends or family. Your May the Fourth Celebration Party won’t be complete without some awesome Star Wars-themed treats.

Start off with something small like some Tie Fighters made out of graham crackers and marshmallows, follow it up with some Yoda Soda and a Millennium Falcon Pizza! There are tutorials all over Pinterest and YouTube on how to make some super cool snacks. For myself, I’ll be making my kids some Lightsaber Pretzel Sticks! I’m sure it’s gonna turn into a mess, but it will be fun!

6. Read Star Wars!

I think a great way to spend the fourth would be to lay back and relax with some of your tasty Star Wars snacks and read a Star Wars book or comic! There are so many Star Wars publications! You can read film novelizations, reference books, canon novels, books for kids, and comics! There is so much to read out there that it’s a little overwhelming, to be honest. You can either start from the very beginning or pick up somewhere in the middle, but reading about Star Wars will surely be a great way to dig deeper into the Star Wars galaxy.

5. Watch The Bad Batch on DisneyPlus

The Bad Batch is premiering on DisneyPlus on the 4th! Created by Dave Filoni, The Bad Batch series is a Star Wars: Clone Wars spin-off. An elite group of clone troopers with genetic mutations are known as the Clone Force 99. They go by the names of Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Echo, and Crosshair and have skills unlike any other crew of troopers. They are all voiced by Dee Bradley Baker who is a well-known voice actor. He also worked on the animated series Star Wars Rebels. I definitely recommend going over the Star Wars: Clone Wars first if you haven’t seen them already though.

This season will have at least 14 episodes, and they are starting the season off with a 70-minute special!

4. Play Dress-up As Your Favorite Star Wars Character

Costume party anyone? This would be a great opportunity to get your cosplay on! Pick out your favorite character and costume it up! You can either make your own or buy a costume online. With Star Wars, it’s easy to keep it simple or to go all out! You can even get yourself your very own Lightsaber! There are some great tutorials on making your own costumes easily and for cheap!

I say have a May the Fourth be with you themed costume party and bring some friends over to make it fun. They also have a Star Wars roleplaying game which would be a perfect way to get the most out of your cosplay!

3. Star Wars LEGOS!

Who doesn’t like LEGOS? Get back to your childhood, and build yourself one of the many awesome Star Wars Lego kits they have available. The LEGO Star Wars collections are growing, and they have a few limited-time offers available for the fourth. They have a new helmet collection with Darth Vader, Storm Trooper, Boba Fett, and more. There are so many different sets to chose from, the problem is narrowing it all down.

I have always wanted to tackle the Millenium Falcon, maybe this will be my year.

2. YouTube It

YouTube is a great way to get easy, fun, and engaging entertainment these days. It seems like this is a YouTube channel for just about anything. So, of course, they have some pretty badass Star Wars channels to watch. I can only imagine what all of these channels have up their sleeves to celebrate the fourth.

Whether you are looking for Star Wars updates, theories, top 10’s, tips for games, or anything else Star Wars related, you have a good chance of finding it on YouTube. Here is a list of 10 of the most popular channels:

  • NET Alliance
  • Star Wars Reading Club
  • Stupendous Wave
  • Leia’s Layer
  • Everything Star Wars
  • Star Wars Comics
  • Star Wars Explained
  • The Lore Master
  • Star Wars HQ
  • Star Wars Theory

1. A “May the Fourth Be With You” Gaming Day!

You could easily pass every last hour of May the Fourth with all the different Star Wars video games that are available. Star Wars Day this year has some pretty sweet deals on some of the top games available right now. The Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Soldier is up to 70% percent off up until May 12th! Other deals include the EA Star Wars Triple Bundle, Star Wars: Minecraft, The Sims 4: Star Wars: Journey to Batuu, Star Wars Battlefront II, Star Wars: Episode I Racer, and several others.

Meanwhile, I will be over here dressed up as Laya eating the Star Wars-themed snacks I made while listening to the Star Wars movies play in the background before I pull out my new LEGO kit. Multi-tasking at its finest!

Fun Fact about Star Wars Day: Did you know that Lucas Films actually had nothing to do with creating this lovely holiday? May the Fourth was actually entirely fan-inspired and started in Toronto in an underground cinema!

As an added tip, you should totally turn up those Star Wars tunes or listen to Star Wars Podcast or Star Wars book on Audible! And remember, don’t party too hard or it will definitely be Revenge of the Fifth for you in more ways than one.
