Some new information has been provided that the the Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens Blu-ray set might be coming in 3 discs. This is an update from before that the normal 2D set would only be released as 2 discs.

As noted by JediNews, Blu-ray.com updated its listing for the Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens Blu-ray set. The new info shows that it will be coming out with 2 Blu-ray discs and 1 DVD.

This could mean the set will have an entire disc dedicated to only extra features. Blu-ray.com initially posted that the set will only be released on 1 disc.

With the amount of deleted scenes that were cut from the movie, it’s possible they need the extra disc to fit all of the bonus features. The deleted scenes weren’t just small pieces of footage either as some of them sound long and extensive.

Sadly, no official release date for the Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens Blu-ray has been announced, but many retail websites have listed that it could be out on April 5th, 2016. This is said to be a worldwide release date so most countries will be getting it at the same time.
