Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens is less than two months away from release, as hard as that may be to believe. The hype just keeps growing with the new trailer release this past Monday and the pre-sales for tickets going up, and to no one’s surprise, the movie has already started setting records.

Ticket sales went up for Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens Monday night after the trailer debuted, which quickly brought many popular ticketing sites to a screeching halt. The sheer number of visitors was massive, with perhaps the biggest site of them all, Fandango, saying that their online traffic jumped up to seven times their usual peak levels.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens is breaking pre-sale records all around the various ticketing sites. Fandango says that they have already sold eight times the number of tickets of the previous first day record holder, which was The Hunger Games.

The second largest theater chain in the country, AMC Theatres, revealed that the movie broke its single day advance ticket sales record by more than 10 time over, which is incredible. Specifically, they said they had sold out of over 1,000 shows after just 12 hours.

For a more direct comparison, MovieTickets.com detailed that the tickets are already selling four times faster than they were for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith in the same amount of time.
