The official Star Wars website has announced today that the recently released Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens Trailer 3 has been viewed over 128 million times already.

The mind boggling statistic to take away from this is that the new trailer was viewed over 128 million times in only 24 hours. This takes into account the many other ways people saw the trailer outside of just the main YouTube video.

112 million views came online while an additional 16 million came from the people that watched it on ESPN during the NFL games that were playing on Monday.

Additionally, the movie sold 200,000 tickets in the UK on its first day on sale. It broke the record for “biggest-ever 24 hours for advance sales in numerous countries“. $1 million was already earned in Australia on advanced tickets sales and a further $200,000 came from New Zealand fans. These numbers are sure to grow when the opening weekend happens this December.

It will be interesting to see how much money Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens gets in the long run. If the movie turns out to be good, will it be able to dethrone Avatar and earn over $2.7 billion at the global box office? The biggest movie in 2015 so far is Jurassic World and that earned $1.6 billion.
