Star Wars Battlefront II is currently in the process of redevelopment. Since the development team for Battlefront has grown as a result of many being moved from the Battlefield team by EA, updates for the game have been more constant. And generally, a lot better. As a result of the recent community transmission, it’s clear that Star Wars Battlefront II is stepping up its game. It’s August and September updates are promising with Capital Supremacy altered in its gameplay and objectives, new droid customization options, the Clone Commando and much more. And luckily it doesn’t stop there.

The Changing Battlefront

Star Wars Battlefront II is definitely growing. But with this, its fan base is ever demanding. And it looks like they’re delivering into the later period of 2019. Though, this is ambiguous and tells us little:

So, kind of expectantly, we have new reinforcements and appearances, which continues the obvious growth of the game, whilst also keeping it fresh. It also helps that there developing a new front menu system that will also give the game a fresher appeal. But what is striking about this sentence is the fact that you can ‘play the era of your choosing’. That sounds a lot like an end to cross era gameplay that we’ve had since launch. And it screams controversy. It would mean the end of Maul versus Rey in a game of Galactic Assault, which many players have grown to love. It would be a shame to see this go. Hopefully, there’s an optional playlist for cross era games, as well as a single era. But this wouldn’t be for a while, and would probably land near the Rise of Skywalker update.

Incoming transmission!

Star Wars: The Rise of Battlefront II

Towards the end of the community transition, it’s noted that Dice will be working on Rise of Skywalker content.

Obviously, there are no spoilers to what, but it’s likely around a month before Rise of Skywalker releases, a new update will drop. A couple of details about ‘new planets’ and ‘new reinforcements’ is what we’re limited to, but it’ll be as the transition put it, ‘based on the conclusion to the galaxy-spanning Skywalker Saga.’ Not a lot to go on, but it’ll probably be a lot like last year’s The Last Jedi update.
