Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opened earlier this year and was expected to be a smash hit at Disneyland this summer. Star Wars may have just hit its peak in popularity after the controversial Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and it is clearly showing in how popular Galaxy’s Edge is at Disneyland. That is to say, it isn’t doing so hot.

According to an anonymous source working at the park, workers have been forced to cut down on hours to deal with the lackluster performance of the brand new attractions. Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is reportedly doing so poorly as a result of being rushed according to the park worker. The following quote comes from an anonymous Disney employee from a report with Fox Business:

Clearly, this is a dramatic drop in hours, but what may have caused the lack of excitement for the new park? Well, Star Wars, as previously mentioned is coming off of it’s most controversial film since the prequels and was followed up by a lackluster showing in Solo. Along with that, the employee points out that opening a park with only one large main attraction isn’t exactly making people go out of their way to get to Disneyland.

Aside from the one ride, a myriad of themed restaurants and shops are present to make parkgoers feel like they are on a Star Wars planet. It seems like this is not enough to drive people to the park. For all your Star Wars news, be sure to check back to The Nerd Stash.
