The official press release by Electronic Arts outlined that it will be working with Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, to lead the development of new projects in the Star Wars universe. Vince Zampella, Group GM and Founder of Respawn, will oversee production on this front.

In addition to the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel, a team will also be working on a yet-untitled FPS led by Peter Hirschmann, co-creator of Medal of Honor and previous VP of development at LucasArts, who has a long history of working with Lucasfilm. Additionally, there is also a Star Wars strategy game in the works developed through a production collaboration with the newly formed studio Bit Reactor, helmed by games industry veteran Greg Foertsch, with Respawn leading production on the title.

The sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was confirmed to have been the start of a new franchise by EA back in 2019, with will once again be director Stig Asmussen, who led the development of the first game as well as God of War 3, one again returning to lead.
