Feel the power of the force with Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, and you can play it on the Nintendo Switch starting on Sept. 24.
The title announcement came out of nowhere, as there have been no hints to Nintendo getting the chance to work with Lucasarts, Disney, or even EA who remain the sole publisher for Star Wars titles. While the first game has not released to the Nintendo Switch, the arrival of the ever-popular Jedi Knight II is pretty grand.
The story takes place in a galaxy where the Rebels overthrew the Empire, but their stain remains on the universe. They still contain a strong foothold, and they’re continuing to cause trouble. In Jedi Knight II, players assume the role of Kyle Katarn, one of the lone defenders of the Jedi Valley. He was once a Jedi. However, he turned his back on it and threw away his lightsaber.
While out on the outer rim, him and his partner, Jan, encounter remnants of the Empire attempting to gather additional strength. When trying to save slaves, Jan meets a dark Jedi known as Desann, who kills Jan, forcing Kyle to take back his lightsaber and become the Jedi he was only always meant to be.
You can pre-order the game right now from the Nintendo Store.
