New developments exist about the highly anticipated Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake. According to Bloomberg, the video game moves to a new developer. The project was formerly in development at Austin, Texas-based Aspyr Media and is now moving to Saber Interactive’s Eastern European studios. So, will this transition delay the game’s release date? Here are the details.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Changed Its Developer

First of all, there is no official statement on the subject. But according to a person familiar with the change who spoke to Bloomberg and asked not to be identified because the details are private, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is now being led by one of Saber Interactive’s Eastern European studios. By the way, both studios are owned by the Swedish company Embracer Group AB. This makes a potential change more meaningful.

Last Thursday, Embracer Group AB shared a financial report and said that one of the big titles had changed developer. However, the identity of the game was not announced. The company’s statements on the subject were as follows;

”One of the Group’s AAA projects has transitioned to another studio within the Group. This was done to ensure the quality bar is where we need it to be for the title. We are not expecting any material delays for the title based on this transition.”

Embracer Group AB wants to reinvigorate the title of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, released by BioWare in 2003, which significantly impacted the game market. In July, Bloomberg reported that the remake of the game was delayed indefinitely after two directors were fired. Besides that, Saber Interactive was previously named as helping Aspyr Media with the development on the title. However, Embracer was unsatisfied with Aspyr’s performance in the development process and gave full authority to Saber.
