The LEGO Group has revealed the newest addition to its Ultimate Collector Series. A new Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer set that measures in at nearly four feet long and is built with 4,784 bricks.

When the Star Destroyer is fully assembled, it features swiveling guns, a tilting radar dish, and additional surface details. Altogether, the set measures 14″ high, 43″ long, and 26″ wide. It also includes a display stand that will raise it another three inches.

The set comes with two exclusive Star Wars miniatures. An Imperial Officer and an Imperial Crew Member. It also comes with a buildable Tantive IV. The well-known rebel ship captured at the beginning of Star Wars: A New Hope that was transporting Princess Leia and the Death Star plans.

It is quite incredible to look at. While there is little doubt it is an enormous set, it is not LEGO’s largest. Known larger sets are Ninjago City with 4,867 pieces, the Ultimate Collector’s Millenium Falcon with 5,197 pieces, the Taj Mahal with 5,923 pieces, and the original Millenium Falcon with an incredible 7,541 pieces. This will make the new Imperial Star Destroyer larger than the Death Star with its 4,016 pieces.

The price? $699.99. Certainly not something for the casual LEGO builder. It’s recommended for ages 16 and older. For LEGO VIP members, the Star Wars Imperials Star Destroyer will be available on September 18th. But for everyone else, it can be bought online or at local retailers on October 1st. Its item number is #75252 and VIP members will earn 4,550 VIP points with its purchase, so they can use this to buy even more LEGO goodness. For those interested, VIP costs nothing to sign up and works like a normal rewards program. The more you buy, the more points you get, the more free things you earn.

With the large influx of Star Wars movies and shows after Disney’s acquisition, Star Destroyers are still a staple to the franchise that new and old fans alike can enjoy.
