Hold onto your lightsabers, fellow Jedi – we now know when the highly-anticipated seventh season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is headed to our screens.
Ever since the series was announced for a one-season revival back in July 2018, fans have been eager to rejoin the Clone Wars once again. You can do so on Monday, February 17, on Disney+.
The video announcement for Star Wars: The Clone Wars was initially available on Disney’s official website. Unfortunately, the link to said announcement is currently unviewable and instead takes you to a trailer for The Rise of Skywalker.
Luckily, the good folks at cbr.com caught a screenshot of the official release date before the video got miraculously taken down. As of yet, there’s no word on why the Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7 announcement was removed so suddenly.
While the month of the season’s release has previously been known, this is the first time we’ve identified the actual day. So, you have plenty of time to finish binge-watching the first six seasons on Disney+ before the new slew of episodes arrives.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars was canceled following Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2013. During this time, not only was Season 7 on the cards, but an eighth one to boot. However, it has been confirmed that the seventh season airing exclusively on Disney+ will be the series’ last. However, given that the series has survived in other forms, including novels and comics, it may well not be the last time we visit the Clone Wars.
The series follows the exploits of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi during the Clone Wars that take place in between Episode II and Episode III of the movie series. It has received great critical acclaim from professional critics and fans alike.
