It’s been four years since Star Wars: The Last Jedi hit theaters, yet a new Han Solo Easter Egg has just been discovered in the film.
Remember that opening bombing scene in the movie? Well, it turns out they have more than just explosive matter. One one of the visible bombs, the words ‘Han says Hi’, are written in Aurebesh, a fictional language in the Star Wars universe. And next to it is another with a smiley face, just for good measure.

Story-wise, it is speculated the Han reference is due to the character’s recent death at the time of The Last Jedi. In The Force Awakens, Han Solo dies at the hands of his son, Ben, AKA Kylo Ren. Given the character’s status as a legendary General in the sequel trilogy, it’s no wonder the Resistance is in mourning at the time of TLJ.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the middle section of the Disney sequel trilogy. Released in 2017, the movie is notable for its division in opinion between fans and critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 90% ‘Fresh’ rating, with the consensus being “Star Wars: The Last Jedi honors the saga’s rich legacy while adding some surprising twists — and delivering all the emotion-rich action fans could hope for.” Meanwhile, audiences rate the film at 42%, with fans debate whether it is truly a good Star Wars movie.
