Star Wars and Marvel Comics have always had a strong history. And with the Skywalker saga’s cinematic story now complete, the final movie will soon appear as a five-issue miniseries. Jody Houser will write it with art by Will Sliney and covers by Phil Noto. This isn’t Houser’s first Star Wars comic. She has stated:

While this miniseries will, of course, retell the movie, there will be additional scenes added in, or extended. Houser said:

The Rise of Skywalker was controversial to fans of the franchise, with some loving it and some not so much. It does bring about the end of an era of Skywalker-focused storytelling. But Star Wars always has so much to give across so many mediums. Comics were its first form of storytelling even before A New Hope’s release in 1977. Part of the story was released in a comic form prior to coming to theaters to build interest. When asked if there is a moment she is really looking forward to putting into comic form, Houser replied:

The miniseries will be available this May.
