Star Wars: The Force Awakens has created a ton of unexpected love for one Stormtrooper who makes a brief experience, speaks one line, and then kicks a lightsaber wielding Finn’s ass. No, it’s not Captain Phasma, since she speaks a couple of times. Instead, it’s the affectionately dubbed “TR-8R” Stormtrooper. Hot Toys and Sideshow Collectibles revealed a 1/6 scale collectible figure for the character….and that Finn guy too.
“TR-8R” is Officially known as the First Order Riot Control Stromtrooper and is part of a collectible set that let’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens fans recreate the scene from the movie. Both figures impressively recreate the characters from the film. The Stormtrooper has finely detailed armor along with the stun baton, riot shield, and a blaster rifle. Meanwhile, the eerily accurate John Boyega figure for Finn comes with LED-lighted lightsaber and a blaster.
The attention to detail comes at a price and a bit of a wait. The Star Wars collectible set will rings up at a hefty $360 price and will not be released until either June or August of this year.
Those not ready to drop that kind of dough on their own “TR-8R’ figure have other options available. Hasbro has a premium Star Wars set featuring the Riot Control Stormtrooper and Poe Dameron available for around $40 and a more traditional figure available for cheap if you can find it. There is also a Funko Pop version of the character.
