PlayStation will host a surprise State of Play today. According to the PlayStation blog, the next stream will serve as a sort of pre-show for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, which will take place from September 15-18. Along with some updates on Sony’s most recent VR headset, State of Play 2022 will focus on PlayStation’s Japanese partners.

PlayStation State of Play September 2022

The players anticipated the event would be held in 2022 because Sony had a digital PlayStation event in September for the previous two years. The publisher will have much to show off with the PlayStation VR2, and God of War Ragnarok announced in November and January 2019.

State of Play will take place on September 13 at 3:00 PM PT/11:00 PM BST. PlayStation blog stated that the stream would run for about 20 minutes. Sony will stream the event on its YouTube and Twitch channels.

State of Play returns tomorrow, September 13. Watch live to see new reveals and updates for PS5, PS4, and PS VR2.

In a blog post on the PlayStation Network, the company said that the stream would include updates from its Japanese partners and “a few other surprises” from global development teams. Those who watch the event can anticipate learning more about upcoming titles for the PS4, PS5, and PS VR2.

Even though everyone is anticipating more detail about God of War Ragnarok, this event probably isn’t concentrating on that. The September State of Play showcase highlights numerous upgrades from Japanese PlayStation partners.

Most of this leaves us in the dark as to what might show up, but one simple assumption could be a look at some upcoming Final Fantasy content from the many titles from the series. Some PlayStation fans are already hopeful that the State of Play would end the ongoing Silent Hill rumors. However, what will be shown during the showcase is unknown.

We got a sneak peek at Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 and Street Fighter 6 at State of Play June. Also, Sony showed Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC. There were also surprises, such as the development of PlayStation VR2 games.
