This adorable single-player adventure game has you taking care of a farm of slimes while finding secrets along the way. With so much to do and some immense depth, it’s no wonder this game has seen 97% positive reviews among 45,000 reviews.
Far Cry 3
Cost: $5.99 (70% off)
If you have yet to play this entry in the franchise, you’ll want to. Trust me, you won’t regret it. Far Cry 3 tells the story of Jason Brody, a young man who’s tasked with saving his friends after a trip to a remote island goes horribly wrong. With some seriously intense gameplay and a story that’s shocking to see from a triple AAA, this is a Far Cry title worth your hours, even if the graphics have aged a bit.
Hades
Cost: $17.99 (20% off)
While this is definitely one of the smaller sales on this list, Hades is a roguelike you simply can’t miss. As the Prince of the Underworld, you must use all the tools at your disposal to destroy your foes in a beautiful display of carnage. Considering Hades has been nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards, I don’t think I need to explain why it’s worth it.
Warhammer: Verminitide 2
Cost: $7.49 (75% off)
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 tells the story of the Dark Ages, with hordes of rats and crazed humans slaughtering nearly every other species. As a band of four heroes, it’s up to you to kill these vile creatures and put an end to their horde. This is a great title for a few friends, with craziness akin to Left 4 Dead 2.
Titanfall 2
Cost: $9.89 (67% off)
Titanfall 2 is a game I’d easily consider one of the largest sleeper hits of 2016. Titanfall 2 puts you into the shoes of Rifleman Jack Cooper as he’s forced to become a pilot to survive. Along with his titan BT-7274, it’s up to the dynamic duo to get back to the Militia and put an end to the IMC’s world-slaughtering plans. Given how great the multiplayer and singleplayer are, $10 is frankly a steal for this game.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Cost: $4.49 (85% off)
While this may be a game you haven’t heard of as much, you’d be a fool to pass Deus Ex: Mankind Divided up. This game tells the story of Adam Jensen, a mechanically augmented citizen who’s been cast down by society. Working with groups that operate from the shadows, he must put an end to the Illuminati conspiracy and work to save thousands of lives.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
While I wouldn’t recommend this to the faint of heart, those who can handle this will find a breathtaking and dark adventure. Hellblade tells the story of Senua, a young warrior who’s insane journey into Norse mythology will test her wits as she works to rest the soul of her deceased partner. A winner of five BAFTA awards, Hellblade will easily be one of the best games you’ve ever played.
DOOM
Given this is literally my favorite game of all time, I don’t think I can recommend this game more. DOOM has you ripping and tearing through hundreds of demons is a beautiful parade of blood and gore. A massive arsenal of weapons and the main character’s refusal of the game’s story make this the best game of 2016, among a year of wonderful games. If you haven’t played this one, do yourself a favor and spare $6. You won’t regret it, I promise you.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition
Cost: $14.99 (70% off)
This may be one of the more expensive games on this list, but you’re paying for some insane value. This story-driven open-world RPG tells the story of Geralt, a professional monster hunter tasked with finding a child of prophecy within a massive open world. There’s so much to do and explore that I wouldn’t be surprised if you break 100 hours here.
Dishonored 2
Cost: $7.99 (80% off)
And last, but certainly not least, is one of the greatest assassin games ever made. Dishonored 2 tells the tale of either Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano, left as fugitives after a coup by Delilah Kaldwin. There are such unique gameplay mechanics and an interesting story to tell here, that I couldn’t recommend this game more. Don’t just take that from me though, have a look at its massive list of awards.
