Ah, Steam Controller, you curious little beast. You weren’t the easiest to use, but you had your innovations, your special features, your haptic feedback. And now, allow us to bid you audiue—or, perhaps, TK—at a closeout price.
That’s right, the Steam Controller is selling on the official Steam page for a mere $5, along with a few extra bucks for shipping (about $8 or so). In total, you get a new Steam pad to call your own for around $13. That’s not bad for a peripheral like this.
There is some slight struggle with the Steam website, though. There’s a lot of traffic at the moment, mainly due to the Autumn sale that kicked off earlier today. That may result in errors as you try to log in and complete your order. Still, it’s worth the effort given the price tag.
Think of the collectibility as well. Considering the Steam Controller didn’t take off the way Valve was hoping, this will likely be the last batch ever made. Introduced originally in mid-2015, it has customization options galore, along with that Haptic feedback, dual-stage triggers, and dual trackpads. Plus it can be used in both wired and wireless mode, making it convenient for even the most hectic of game sessions.
