Ever since its reservations went live in 2021, Valve’s Steam Deck has been in high demand. But people are still waiting for their handheld consoles to arrive as Valve struggles to meet demands. But if you’re still waiting for yours, good news, Valve confirmed that all current orders of the Steam Deck should arrive before December.

And if you haven’t ordered yours yet, but want to now, you can expect your Steam Deck to arrive within Q4 this year, at least before December.

Valve explained in a blog post:

“We’re excited to announce that we’re going to be able to fulfill demand sooner than we had estimated for everyone in the reservation queue. Many of the supply chain shortfalls that affect Steam Deck are gradually clearing up, and we’re continuing to ramp production, so we’re able to produce more Decks faster than ever before.”

Most supply chain issues faced by tech companies have started to clear up. Sony was in a similar situation not long ago but is now promising to meet demands by the end of this year as well. The Steam Deck has also caught the same lucky break.

Great news: Everyone who currently has a reservation can get their Steam Deck by the end of this year! We’ve cleared up supply chain issues, a bunch of folks got moved up to Q3, and all other reservations are now in Q4.

When Will You Get Your Steam Deck?

According to Valve, people who were meant to receive their devices in Q4 have been moved up to Q3. So it is recommended that you check your reservation and see if it has been updated; you can do so from the Steam Deck website.

Ever since the Steam Deck launched, Valve has continually been trying to improve its shipment numbers. Back in June, the company confirmed that it will double the number of Decks being shipped each week to meet demands.

When the Deck came out, it had its fair share of problems, and Valve promised to constantly improve upon the handheld console’s experience. Valve has kept that promise and made the Deck a far more well-rounded gaming device.

It has turned into less of a Nintendo Switch competitor and more of a hybrid between the Switch and a gaming PC. With players even emulating the Switch and other consoles on the Steam Deck, there really aren’t any limits to how one can use their Deck.
