It’s another Friday, and that means another lineup of free games for you to try this weekend. We hope you’ve been cooped up in your house, enjoying all the games from last week, along with many others. Last week brought us a ton of exciting titles to play, and some are still free to keep to this day. We won’t be covering those again here, but be sure to check them out if you haven’t already. Otherwise, this week brings another host of solid games. Without further adieu, here are your free games to keep you safe this weekend.
First off, we have three games from developer The Behemoth. Those games are Castle Crashers, Battleblock Theater, and Pit People. These three are, without a doubt, the most known titles from The Behemoth and are known for a lot of good reasons. Especially Castle Crashers and Battleblock Theater, as those proved to be massive successes back in the days of the Xbox 360. These games don’t necessarily need an introduction, but if you want to know more or want to play them, you can find them here. These games are free to play over the next few days, so be sure to hop in and try them before you can’t anymore. They’re also all having sales, so be sure to purchase the games if you enjoy them.
100% Orange Juice is a multiplayer board game from publisher Fruitbat Factory. The world of 100% is a magical place, with many things flying through the air that you wouldn’t normally expect. Not all is fun and games, though, as darkness has begun to envelop everything in its path. As the young student Kai, you must go on an adventure across many different worlds with the help of a mysterious life form known as Marie Poppo. The game offers a lot of singleplayer content but is playable with up to three others. This game is free to keep until March 30th at 10 AM, so be sure to claim this one soon.
But this isn’t all that Fruitbar Factory is giving away. There’s also 200% Mixed Juice and Acceleration of SUGURI 2. 200% Mixed Juice is an old-school RPG having you adventure across small worlds created by you, Navi. With many characters to battle with and a good nostalgic feel, this game is great for those who like old-school games. Acceleration of SUGURI 2, on the other hand, is a fast-paced bullet hell game featuring all the classic SUGURI characters. Battle a mastermind looking to take over Earth, and play as many characters from the SUGURI universe. These are both free to keep until March 30th as well, so claim them quickly.
Next up is Hellion, a space survival game from developer Zero Gravity. You’ve been asleep for a century and haven’t awakened to the good news. Mankind’s first interstellar colony is in ruins, with you being the last. You must scavenge resources to stay alive and discover just what caused this mass failure. This game has a bit of a sad story attached to it, as it won’t be available for purchase following this free period. The studio has completely disbanded and is only keeping a few of the game’s servers alive now. You better claim the game now, as you’ll never have the chance to play it again if you don’t. It’s available for free until March 30th at 10 AM.
Onto a much lighter note though, UNI from Game Museum is free to keep. UNI is a collection of 40 different minigames that you can play against your friends. These include Whack-a-Mole, Darts, Baseball, and many more. If you have a friend you can play this with, it seems like it’s more than worth it. Just be ready to ruin that friendship through this game, possibly. You have until March 31st to claim this one, but it looks like a good time killer for a few hours. Following that, we have Nephise Begins from developer Tonguç Bodur. It’s a short puzzle game that tells the story of Nephise before they were an orb collector, being a sequel to the game Nephise. You’ll traverse a completely new forest, complete a wide range of puzzles, and learn more about the series main character. This game is free to keep until March 31st, so be sure to claim it quickly. Also, check out the other games in the series, as they’re cheap and will offer more content you might be interested in.
For our final free-to-keep game on this list, we have Project Mercury from Raxasoft Games. Project Mercury follows the main character through many different lands in an adventure reminiscent of classic action-platformers but in high fidelity. Take on many threats of unknown origin, move across eight unique stages, and enjoy a rich soundtrack that reminds you of the old days. Fans of games like Shovel Knight and other 2D action-platformers will want to give this one a try. You have a few weeks to claim this one, but be sure to do so before April 8th.
Next up on the free weekend list is Insurgency: Sandstorm. Developed by New World Interactive, this is a realistic shooter like no other. You’ll have to use your tactics and teamwork if you and your team are to survive and complete objectives. Sandstorm is a complete overhaul of the original Insurgency, offering much more visual fidelity and refined gameplay than its predecessor. If you’re a fan of tactical shooters, you have until April 1st to try out this title. With the free weekend, the game is also 50% off for those that end up enjoying it. Good luck out there, soldiers.
If running and gunning isn’t your style, then maybe Kerbal Space Program will be more your groove. You’re put in charge of the space program for the alien race known as Kerbals. With a wide range of parts, you must construct a ship that’ll send these Kerbals into the stars (with maybe some failures along the way). Kerbal Space Program is highly regarded for its humorous premise and realistic aerodynamics, offering a lot of solid gameplay. The title is also 75% off, so be sure to pick it up and get building.
And finally, we have Cities Skylines with a free weekend lasting until March 30th. From publisher Paradox Interactive, Cities Skylines has you building a modern city from the ground up. You’ll experience all the ups and downs of creating a real city, along with expanding ever so infinitely. The city is up to your imagination, and it’s up to you to run wild and see what you come up with. This game is critically acclaimed by many and is one you should try regardless of interests.
