Steam Link Anywhere Lets You Stream Pc Games On Other Networks

Valve has just announced a new update for its device called Steam Link Anywhere.

The subtle yet very important difference is that you can now stream your PC Steam games on devices which are on networks other than your home’s.

Build 688 is introducing the support to this features, which Valve claims still is “in early beta.”

“Steam Link Anywhere allows you to stream games to your Steam Link from any computer running Steam, as long as your computer has good upload speed and your Steam Link device has a good network connection,” says the description of the update.

It’s not limited to PCs running Steam, anyway.

The Steam Link Anywhere update currently supports the dedicated Steam Link hardware, a Rasperry Pi running Steam Link software, and Android devices via the Steam Link app.

The move comes as a reaction to Google launching its Project Stream (probably together with a dedicated gaming box) and Microsoft showcasing once again Project xCloud. Both the services are expected to launch in 2019.
