This year’s Steam Next Fest will kick off soon, starting February 21 until the 28th. The multi-day video game showcase and sales event is a celebration of games, offering hundreds of game demos, developer live streams, and chat with the teams about their games. Steam Next Fest 2022 will officially kick off at 10:00 AM PT.
These events and sales are great for developers, giving them a chance to get their games in front of players again or for the first time. Offering players a wide variety of new and old games at discounted prices for more accessibility, starting with the first event of the year.
Steam Next Fest kicks off a year of video game sales events
Steam Next Fest kicks off the 2022 schedule for upcoming sales and events that will be happening on Steam. Valve has announced the upcoming 2022 schedule ending in July of this year. Here is the complete list:
- Next Fest — February 21 to February 28
- Remote Play Together (Genre) — February 28 to March 7
- Japanese Role-Playing Game (JRPG) (Genre) — March 14 to March 21
- SimFest: Hobby Edition (Genre) — March 28- April 4
- Die-a-lot/ Roguelike Sale (Genre) — May 2 to May 9
- Racing (Genre) — May 23 to May 30
- Steam Summer Sale — June 23 to July 7
- Survival (Genre) — July 18 to July 25
The event comes after Valve announced changes to its policy on February 1 regarding discounts on the platform. The publishing platform allows developers to discount their titles after a 28-day cooldown compared to the original 42 days. They are offering developers more chances to offer their games at a discounted price. Regarding any more information on these changes, the announcement can be found on the Steam event website.
Players can still get in on the currently ongoing Steam Lunar New Year sale, which will continue until February 15. Games like Jedi: Fallen Order, Dirt 5, Disco Elysium, and many more are now at discounted prices during the span of the Lunar New Year sale.
