Nintendo Switch Online has drawn lots of discussions, both good and bad. While praise seems to revolve around the service’s ease of use and practicality, criticism arises when referring to game selection as the emulation works great and provides a seamless experience, many question why there are so few titles. Lamenting the fact that previous Nintendo Eshop channels have provided a plethora of games, the monthly drop system has made some fans wary. Yet, the service has been excellent at delivering those great retro experiences in new ways. This is why Nintendo began production of classic controllers to sell the experience. While the molds of the devices are the originals, there are some modern changes. With 4 classic controllers released now, official PC support has been wanted for a long time. Thanks to the new Steam update, users can finally use Nintendo Switch Online classic controllers on Steam.

Which Nintendo Switch Online Classic Controllers Are Steam-Supported?

While PlayStation 5 users have been using their Dual sense on Steam for a few years now, the service only recently got support for controller firmware updates. Despite the necessity being rare, sometimes they are crucial to keeping the gaming experience smooth. While Steam has struggled in the past to recognize certain gamepads, in recent memory, the company has been moving toward more support. With the advent of the steam deck, Valve hammered down on supporting all major controllers. Not only improving SteamOS native controller remap but by allowing for more game controllers to support it. While the client is always improving, the recent support comes with some drawbacks. While rumble features haven’t always been as featured in PC games, the update adds support for even the new N64 and Sega Genesis classic controller.
