But an indie developer studio shared their experience with the scammers who look like curators, and the situation looks terrible. Some curators ask for free game codes, then sell them online. ‘Scammer Curators’ Are the Victims of Steam’s Ban Wave
A Reddit user shared a detailed post about the situation and mentioned a few curators doing the same scam. After that, Valve started a ban wave, and a few scammers got banned. The moderation team didn’t make an announcement about this, but this is how the situation is. It’s great to see some of them aren’t curators anymore, but it’s a known fact that they could get another Steam account and do the same thing. Valve needs to bring different gifting access codes for the developers; we hope to see that in the future.
