Image & Form’s beloved SteamWorld series has reached its 10th anniversary. And to celebrate, publisher Thunderful Games is releasing several collector’s items in limited quantities. The series began with 2010’s SteamWorld Tower Defense on Nintendo DSi. Each game focuses on steam-powered robots in a light-hearted dystopian world. However, Image & Form has always shown it likes to experiment with gameplay. While SteamWorld Dig 1 & 2 are Metroidvanias, the most recent game is a card-collecting RPG.
In honor of the original game, a 7″ vinyl soundtrack with two reimagined tracks is now available. It costs $9.09, and only 250 copies are available. For SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech, the most recent game in the series, Thunderful teamed up with Super Rare Games. A full vinyl soundtrack, printed on two transparent green-colored LPs, is available for $32.05 with 200 copies available. But it also comes in the game’s collector’s edition. For $82.57, fans get the vinyl, a numbered limited edition box, a full-color manual, interior art, and the game with an exclusive Switch case sleeve. Only 500 copies are available. All products can be ordered now through Thunderful’s website.
These are the only collectibles available right now, but Image & Form promises there is more to come. Additionally, the studio is holding a contest on its own site to win a copy of the SteamWorld Tower Defense vinyl.
