Skybox Labs, co-developer of Halo Infinite releases their brand new IP, Stela.

Stela is a cinematic, atmospheric platformer about a young woman witnessing the final days of a mysterious ancient world.

Overcome daunting challenges, treacherous terrain, and gargantuan beasts while traversing a decaying land. Manipulate the environment to solve elaborate puzzles and creep past dangerous creatures under cover of muted landscapes, all set to an original soundtrack. Survive sweeping environments including mysterious towns, haunting forests, and massive subterranean ruins brought to life in an atmospheric experience.

Muted colors blanket the terrains, while the beacon of a monastery high in the mountains lights the only hopeful path. Roam the formerly vibrant world by solving massively scaled puzzles embedded in colossal monuments.

Stela is a game that can be compared to other platforming, puzzle-solving games like limbo. There is no dialogue and has an original soundtrack by Vancouver-based studio A Shell in the Pit. The story is told through the features of previously thriving locations.

SkyBox Labs, founded in 2011, is a game development studio based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. They’ve helped develop titles alongside some of the world’s top publishers such as Xbox Game Studios, GungHo, and Electronic Arts. Along with Stela, they are working on Halo Infinite and projects within the Minecraft universe. Halo Infinite is rumored to be released around the holiday season next year.

Stela is out now on Xbox One and Apple Arcade. It will be released on Steam sometime later in 2019. For more information on Stela, you can visit their website.

A review for Stela will be published by TheNerdStash at a later date.
