Steven Yeun has been added to the cast for the upcoming Warner Bros. sci-fi thriller that Bong Joon-ho is making. It already will star Robert Pattison. It doesn’t have a title but is based on Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey7. The sci-fi thriller reunites Steven Yeun and Bong Joon-ho, who previously worked on the Netflix film Okja in 2017. Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette, and Naomi Ackie are also part of the cast. Joon-ho is producing it through his production company Offscreen. Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are also producing it under Plan B, along with Dooho Choi of Kate Street Pictures. The Warner Bros. sci-fi thriller will be Joon-ho’s first film since his hit 2019 film Parasite. To date, Parasite is the highest-grossing SouthKorean in history. Steven Yeun is also in Jordan Peele’s upcoming film Nope. There are no further details on Yeun’s role in Joon-ho’s upcoming film.

His Role as Glenn on The Walking Dead Brought Stardom to Steven Yeun

He starred in the AMC hit series The Walking Dead as Glenn Rhee from 2010 to 2016. From there, he played in the films Burning, Sorry to Bother You, Mayhem, and Minari. The latter earned Steven Yeun an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He has been able to speak in his native tongue, Korean, in the films Okja and Minari. Since his Oscar nomination, the actor’s roles have been rolling in. Steven Yeun will tackle another Bong Joon-ho project with the upcoming sci-fi thriller. He has tackled leading and supporting roles and has gotten critical acclaim for both portrayals. The Warner Bros. sci-fi thriller adaptation is another way Steven Yeun will show his versatility. At least Yeun has experience working with Bong Joon-ho already, so he knows how the director would want him to work for the sci-fi thriller.

There still is no release date for Warner Bros. sci-fi thriller, but so far, it has a stellar cast.
