Marvel’s Strange Academy is coming back! Skottie Young announced during a surprise visit to SDCC. The writer is once again working with Humberto Ramos to continue the adventures of Doctor Strange’s mystical students. Strange Academy: Finals #1 hits shelves on October 26.

Where Did We Leave Off?

The original run of Strange Academy from Young and Ramos focused on the mystical side of the Marvel Universe. It introduced several magical characters, including Emily Bright, Doyle Dormammu (yes, the son of THAT Dormammu), and Zoe Leveau. The series became an instant hit and a favorite amongst Marvel readers.

The final issue of the first series, Strange Academy #18, concluded the first run in a big way. It ended, in classic Marvel fashion, with some big journeys (into the Dark Dimension), a teensy school rebellion, and a look at the darker future that awaits some of the students.

What’s In Store For Strange Academy?

Now, Freshman year at Strange Academy is almost done. However, there is still a big question on everyone’s mind: who is the savior of the school? And, the even bigger question, who can bring it all down? All the magic in the Marvel Universe depends on the answer to those questions. This time, it will take much more than the Sorcerer Supreme to save Strange Academy!

During the announcement, Skottie Young shared that the series has been a true passion project for him and Ramos. Plus, it is just fun to make. This time around, readers can expect to see more of the drama between Doyle Dormammu and Emily Bright. However, there are bigger stakes this time, and we will see the ramifications of that first series come into play.

Strange Academy: Finals also focuses on some cool characters. Plus, that pesky prophecy is still looming over the student’s heads. No matter what happens, someone is finishing the semester changed in a big way.
