While the biggest Final Fantasy game of the year was FFXIV, the MMO, there was another sort of spin-off that also made a splash in the gaming world. Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is a game developed by Square Enix and Team Ninja, the latter known for the excellent combat systems they create. The work they did on the latest Final Fantasy spin-off was the highlight of the title, so much so that three DLCs were planned since the beginning. We already had the first ones, but now we have the official announcement of the last one. Stranger of Paradise: Different Future release date has been officially announced and it is closer than you think.

Stranger of Paradise: Different Future Release Date is set for January 27, 2023

The release announcement for the DLC dropped alongside a trailer that showcases everything it’ll bring. We can see a new stage, a new job that resembles the Machinist from FFXIV, and a Kupo. It looks like the story will look for a way to change some of the things that happened during the ending of the base game which is great. While the story isn’t the best there is in other Final Fantasy games, it was still well received. The mixed reviews were due to how repetitive the game is and how reused some of the assets are.

Still, the game is pretty fun. Leveling up jobs to unlock advanced ones is pretty great. It becomes an addictive game loop quite fast. We hope that the fun continues when the Stranger of Paradise: Different Future release date gets here. You can get the DLC as part of the Season Pass if you’ve purchased it already. And, while you wait, remember that Final Fantasy 14 is getting a new live letter this week for the upcoming 6.3 patch.
