With the popular Netflix Sci-Fi horror series Stranger Things gearing up for its season 3 premiere it seems Epic Games is cashing in on the hype with a crossover event in its popular battle royale game Fortnite. With previous successful crossover including both John Wick and The Avengers, are Epic Games on track for another well-received event?
According to PC Gamer, portals from the show started to appear all across the battle royale map earlier today. If you are a fan of the show, it might disappoint you to know that these portals don’t transport you out of Fortnite into the dark dimension of Stranger Things. Instead, they send you to another part of the map. The trip is disorientating. Check them out in the Mega Mall if you want to experience the mayhem for yourself.
Full details of the crossover have yet to release officially. When Epic Games hosted crossover events in the past, these events usually consist of new skins alongside a limited-time mode. The fact Epic Games have withheld official details regarding the event means these portals could eventually transport players into the demonic dimension knows as ‘upside-down.’ We’ll find out more when Epic Games wish to disclose what it has planned thoroughly.
The release date for Stranger Things season 3 is tomorrow July 4th. Any themed challenges or skins will likely drop tomorrow upon the release of the new series, bringing all content of this promo to light.
