Ready to return to the upside down? Along with a short teaser trailer, Netflix has announced that Stranger Things season 4 is set to release in 2022. However, an official release date has not been set.

The news comes from the show’s official Twitter page. The tweet reads, “uʍop ǝpᴉsdn ǝɥʇ uᴉ llɐ,ʎ ǝǝs Stranger Things returns in 2022.” A short teaser trailer accompanied the announcement to give fans a sneak peek into the new season. The familiar faces of Eleven, Hopper, Steve, and the rest of the gang all make an appearance.

As of this writing, plots details for Stranger Things season 4 have been kept pretty quiet. However, Netflix released the “Eleven, are you listening?” trailer earlier this year. It takes fans back to the hospital where kids are seen in hospital gowns playing various games. Maybe, this season will give fans a look into Eleven’s backstory?

The original cast will all reprise their roles in the next season, but Netflix has announced a handful of new cast members. Amybeth McNulty (Vickie), Myles Truitt (Patrick), Regina Ting Chen (Ms. Kelly) and, Grace Van Dien (Chrissy) will be joining the gang in the next season.

Stranger Things season 4 is set to release in 2022. The first three seasons are now available on Netflix for your streaming pleasure. If that’s not enough, you can join the gang in a round of Dead By Daylight, pick up one of the many novels, or check out the pixelated game inspired by the show.
