The Stranger Things season 5 writing process will begin this August. In an interview with Collider, the creators of the series, the Duffer Brothers, said that July would be a break for them, but in the following month, the doors to the writer’s room open.

Season 4 had its epic two-and-a-half-hours ending this weekend when Volume 2 was released, consisting of the final two episodes of the fourth season. It sets up the finale where the kids will hopefully put an end to the nightmarish blending of their world and the Upside Down. When making season 4, the Duffer Brothers outlined Stranger Things season 5, as confirmed by Matt Duffer in a previous interview with Collider.

The creators have used their time wisely to stick the landing for fans when the series ends, hopefully. When season 4 was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they had enough time to plan the writing of Stranger Things season 5. That planning refined what was to come.

Stranger Things season 5 writing begins this August

The Netflix series began in 2016. Due to increased production value in each season, it has taken longer and longer to make the seasons, on top of having a pandemic for the latest outing. Regardless, nothing has stopped it when we eventually get the final season.

While the writing begins for Stranger Things season 5, some talk came out about its release model. This season was broken up, with the final two episodes coming out weeks after the first batch. This was seen similarly with the final season of Ozark. Although there was chatter about switching to weekly episode drops, Netflix shut it down as it plans to stick to its current model of releasing a whole season or in two batches.

As you wait for Stranger Things season 5, you can watch the first four seasons on Netflix.
