Rome: Total War originally launched for the PC back in 2004, which was critically-acclaimed and actually continues to keep up a loyal modding fanbase. However, despite being over a decade old the game is set to be coming to a new platform, as Feral Interactive has revealed that the game will be coming to the iPad.

This new version of the game will not be a downgrade by any means either, as all of the content and DLC will be included. This will be accompanied by upgraded visuals and a full touch-screen interface, making this seem like a tempting purchase even for those who have already played it to death. The only pre-requisite is that it requires an iPad Air or IPad Mini 2 or better to play it.

Here’s a snippet from the announcement trailer:

“ROME: Total War is a strategy game of epic scale, offering players a seamless integration of strategy and tactics to fight spectacular battles, while using diplomacy, subterfuge and assassination to pave the road to ultimate victory.”

An official release date for Rome: Total war on iPad was not revealed, though it is currently targeting a Fall launch. Check out the announcement trailer below.
