During the Xbox Stream for Gamescom 2021, 505 Games and Point Blank Games announced that they are teaming up to create a new RPG titled Stray Blade.
Stray Blade is an action RPG featuring “metroidvania elements with intense souls-like combat”. You fill the shoes of a rogue adventurer accompanied by an adorable wolf, Boji, to bring peace and balance to the land:
Exploration is strongly encouraged in Stray Blade, as “together with your companion, explore the deepest corners of an ever-changing world bristling with adventure. Every discovery holds treasures. Find rare materials, recipes, weapons, lore pieces, and beautiful places.” Environments are ever-evolving, and players can see, in real-time, how their actions have affected the world.
The developers for Stray Blade have strongly encouraged fans to join their Discord to provide valuable feedback as the game is being developed. They even promised fans that they are “designing collectible prizes that will not be for sale and only available to win during community events and other worthwhile activities”.
Stray Blade is set to release on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2022!
Gamescom 2021 started earlier today with Xbox’s stream (where Stray Blade was featured), and events will run through Friday, August 27th. The full schedule is available here, and there are plenty of platforms to watch them on.
