Stray, everyone’s new favorite feline adventure game, has been taking the world by storm and has clearly brought smiles to many faces. With good reason too, as a game with a dedicated meow button should clearly show its attention to detail. As such, many players wish to do much of the side content, including a mysterious safe first located in the Slums section of the game. If you’re having trouble getting it open, no need to worry. In this guide, we’ll explain how to open the safe with the mysterious password in Stray!

How to Open the Safe With the Mysterious Password in Stray

First of all, we have the binary code that you can’t currently decode. To decode it, you’ll need to make your way to Elliot Programming (use the picture above as a reference for his door) and scratch the door. This will have Elliot’s assistant open the door for you, and you can go up to speak to him. Show him the password, and he’ll tell you it translates to “Dufer Bar”, which naturally will mean the bar opposite the elevator. Once you find it, head inside and look for the neon sign on the left side of the first floor. There will be a picture of a beach above it, which you can knock down to find the necessary code 1283. Now, all you need to do is head back to the safe you first found and open it using that code.

Inside will be one of the eight music sheets you need for the achievement, which is a nice bit of progress. Obtaining all eight and showing them to Morusque the guitar player can even let you hear some nice songs, which is merely an added bonus.

Stray is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
