The question “but can you put it in Doom” can never be answered completely, as every other day, something new is making its way onto mars to kill more demons. This time it’s the cat from Stray, who isn’t exactly known for its demon-killing abilities. But that didn’t stop Youtuber and modder Edy Pagaza from giving it a go anyway.

Turns out, he was right; Doom Cat is no slouch when it comes to dismantling demons from hell. It might even give Doom Guy a run for his money.

This mod lets you play as the cat from Stray in the original Doom, and you can shoot your way through the game as the cat. But not only that, but you will be playing in third-person. In the teaser trailer of the mod, you can see the Cat using its little robot friend as the source of all the demon killing.

Stray isn’t a combat-oriented game in the first place, focusing more on exploration and environmental storytelling. Since its release, Stray has been very popular among gamers but also revered by critics. This is why the game has been getting mods constantly since its release, and they don’t seem to be slowing down or limited to the game itself.

Never Enough Doom

Doom creator John Romero created his own studio called Romero games in 2015. The studio is collaborating with a “big publisher” and working on a fresh new IP.

The new FPS called “It’s a New Dawn” that he isn’t ready to talk about yet. What we do know so far is that the game will be built on Unreal Engine 5, so it will probably look very good. And considering his prior work on the Doom franchise, we can make some guesses as to what the upcoming game might be like.
