The V/H/S franchise’s next installment will be V/H/S/94, according to Comicbook. We were lucky enough to get a synopsis of what is in-store for us on October 6, when it premiers on the streaming service Shudder:
The General Manager for the streaming service Shudder, Greg Ender, said this about the V/H/S franchise earlier this year:
In V/H/S/94, after the discovery of a mysterious VHS tape, a brutish police SWAT team launch a high-intensity raid on a remote warehouse, only to discover a sinister cult compound whose collection of pre-recorded material uncovers a nightmarish conspiracy.”

What makes the V/H/S franchise different than other horror franchises is that it uses the anthology format to tell its stories. I remember seeing the very first one and being amazed by the brief, yet to the point stories that they told. After each story, they usually always go back to a through-line, a place in time that grounds us so that we can continue to dine on these malevolent stories that they so carefully weave together.
The V/H/S series has been known for two things: its unbeatable lineup of filmmakers and its edge-of-your-seat terrifying found-footage stories. With V/H/S/94, the producers have upped their game — bigger, wilder, scarier than ever before. We can’t wait to unleash this new installment on Shudder members”
One that really stood out to me was a short about a guy who meets a girl at a bar and then takes her back to his hotel for some adult fun. Little does he know that she is some sort of succubus.
There’s also another story that focuses on a group of friends that go to a haunted house for Halloween. Instead of being a hokey haunted house full of everyday people, it turns out to be an actual haunted house that has these boys running for the hills. If you haven’t seen any of them I highly suggest you do. Start with the first one if you’d like, or start with this latest one. However you start, just start, you will not be disappointed.
