A post on social media claims Street Fighter V: Champion Edition is releasing for the Nintendo Switch. While not officially confirmed by Capcom, the tweet comes from retail store EB Games Canada and says preorders for the Switch version are available now.
As of now, the game is only officially releasing on the PlayStation 4 and Steam. The Nintendo Switch currently has the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, which includes more than a dozen games from the series. However, the original Street Fighter V is not among them.
Capcom has not said anything about the post from EB Games. Neither were there any immediate posts from either the Street Fighter or Capcom social media.
Of course, this could all be a mistake by an employee or the chain itself. EB Games’ website does not feature anywhere to preorder the game. Though the tweet in question does mention, preorders must be done in store.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition released on PC and PS4 back on January 16, 2018, in the United States. It hit shelves in Japan a year later on March 14, 2019.
