After the trolling attempt by announcing Ultra Street Fighter IV being a current-gen exclusive on PlayStation 4, we got the official announcement of Street Fighter V as exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PC during the PlayStation Experience event. We got much more than we expected though as Adam Boyes and Ono Yoshinori revealed a few megatons.

The first of these announcements was that for the first time in the series’ history, there will be cross platform play, this time between the PlayStation 4 and PC versions. This is pretty phenomenal, as anyone can buy this game and be able to play with their friends, regardless of the platform.

Ever since the leak of Street Fighter V the other day, many have speculated that the PS4 console exclusivity was just a timed exclusive. However, Boyes squashed those talks completely by revealing that Street Fighter V will NEVER be on another console. This basically means if gamers want to play Street Fighter V, they will have to buy a PlayStation 4 or PC.

Of course, the trick here is that this could just mean the base Street Fighter V, as we know there will be many other versions of the game after. However, the base Street Fighter V will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive console wise for the life of the title.

The first gameplay footage for the game was also released, which you can see below:
