The official website for the Strike the Blood anime announced that the final season will be four episodes long. The season, Strike the Blood FINAL, is set to adapt the final volume of the same-named light novel.

Three cast members for the Strike the Blood series will make appearances during a live-streamed special on Abema TV. The stream will take place on Saturday, December 11 at 9:35 PM and will discuss more details on the upcoming volumes. Strike the Blood FINAL will feature the returning cast and staff from the original seasons. Studio CONNECT will animate all four OVA episodes.

Strike the Blood’s Long Legacy

Strike the Blood tells the story of Kojo Akatsuki, an ordinary high schooler who is also known as the “fourth progenitor”. A girl named Yukina Himeragi is entrusted with watching over (and hunting him if necessary) the vampire as he tries to live an everyday life.

The main story of Mikumo’s novel ended with 22 volumes in August 2020. Mikumo’s original light novel series eventually started a 24 episode series of the same name. After the anime series finished, it also produced two OVA (original video adaptation) seasons in 2015 and 2016. Discotek licensed the television anime for North America and aired it alongside its Japanese run. As of now, Crunchyroll already confirmed that they will be streaming the first three OVA’s of Strike the Blood FINAL.

For those that choose to buy the season, the first two volumes of Strike the Blood FINAL will ship on Blu-ray and DVD on Match 30th. The last two episodes will ship on June 29.
