2014 is turning out to be a pretty good year for older gamers looking for nostalgia. We’ve recently took a look at a game that will likely bring excitement (if done right) to the hearts of fans of the old Dungeon Keeper series. Now another old favorite is being remade with more modern graphics: Stronghold Crusader 2 by Firefly Studios.

So, having read the title, you might have realized it’s not all good. Firefly Studios has announced that they will be pushing back the release date of September 2nd back three weeks to September 23rd as they look to polish up the game in accordance to feedback they’ve gotten from the closed beta. On one hand, this can be seen as a bad thing in that perhaps the game isn’t ready to be released, but on the other hand, Firefly is clearly showing a determination to make the game as perfect as they can before it is.

For those of you who have been waiting 12 years for a sequel to the original Stronghold Crusader, perhaps a measly three weeks isn’t so bad, especially if it’s being dedicated to making your experience (and nostalgia trip) all the more better. Stronghold Crusader 2 (bar anymore delays) will be released on Steam for PCs on September 23rd.
