Animation studio will Gonzo launch a crowdfunding campaign on September 11th as a part of its 30th anniversary. The campaign will be launched on the Anime Fund platform. Studio Gonzo and Crowdfunding: For Longtime Running Fans

Former Gainax members founded studio Gonzo in 1992. The company then merged with Shinichiro Ishikawa’s Digimation company and a new parent company GDH in 2000. GDH then absorbed Gonzo in 2008 and adopted the name for itself. The company was then resurrected through investment funds in 2016. Lastly, the company then executed an “absorption-type company split” in 2019. It then transferred a portion of its anime properties and rights to the newly formed Studio Kai.

With its start in 2002, Studio Gonzo has had a solid list of titles and fanbases and mainly known for titles like Hellsing, Full Metal Panic!, Gantz, and Rosario Vampire 1 and 2. While the studio has not been active since 2020 (with no listed upcoming projects), it is hard to say if there will be any surprise announcements from the studio.

The company has also launched a special Twitter account for fans to receive updates. Those that choose to be a part of the crowdfunding will also have a pick at reproduction art from the studio’s hit shows.

Animation Studio Gonzo’s crowdfunding campaign will end on October 15th.
