Japanese animation studio Studio Pierrot has released a new PV on its YouTube channel celebrating the 20th anniversary of the anime adaptation of the hit anime-manga franchise, Naruto. The anime’s first episode was released on October 3, 2002, and the new PV trailer – titled Road of Naruto, reanimates several scenes from across the over 500-episode series, with music from its various openings as well.

The first episode of the Naruto anime first release 20 years ago today on October 3, 2002, and Studio Pierrot released a new PV to celebrate. Studio Pierrot was also responsible for the production of several other anime over the years, including the adaption of Yu Yu Hakusho by mangaka Yoshihiro Togashi, Black Clover, Hikaru No Go, and many more.

Naruto is a shonen manga written by Masashi Kishimoto that was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump for 15 years, from September 1999 to November 2014. It ran for a total of 72 volumes and revolved around the story revolves of a young ninja named Naruto Uzumaki, who dreamed of one day becoming the Hokage, leader of his village, to earn its respect and admiration. The TV anime by Studio Pierrot from October 2002 to February 2007 the first season, and continued as Naruto Shippuden up until March 2017.

The sequel to the series, Boruto, is currently airing as of April 2017, and it follows the adventures of adult Naruto and his son, Boruto Uzumaki, against new threats to the world.
