Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studios have finally announced a release date for their upcoming game: Styx: Master of Shadows. Instead of the previously vague release schedule of “some time inside October,” the release date has been officially set to October 7th.

To coincide with the announcement, Cyanide Studios has also released some behind-the-scenes videos for you to peruse as you wait anxiously until the 7th. Unfortunately, unless you can understand French, you won’t be getting much information other than the ~1 minute of gameplay footage in each of the four ~5 minute videos.

As a quick reminder, Styx: Master of Shadows is sort of like Splinter Cell, if Splinter Cell was set in a medieval age where magic was real and Sam Fisher was a goblin. The game will be based around using your magical skills and stealth to infiltrate the “Tower of Akenash” for reasons yet to made crystal clear. To learn more about some of the skills you will be using, you can take a look at our first look at the game, our analysis of Styx’s magic powers and a relatively lengthy compilation of the many ways Styx can find himself dead.

Styx: Master of Shadows is set to be released on October 7th for PCs, Xbox One and PS4s at the price of €29.99/£24.99.
