It is a Super Bowl tradition for studios to debut their most highly anticipated trailers during the big game. For the Super Bowl LVI trailers, this is no exception. Some trailers that fans were expecting, while others were pleasant surprises. Many fans tune in just to see which movie trailers air during the game. For those that preferred not to tune in or missed it, they can see which trailers aired right here. Super Bowl movie trailers are some of the most important bits of marketing a film can receive, and these are the ones that made the cut this year.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

After the wild success of last year’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the MCU’s multiverse saga. Not many expected the Doctor Strange sequel to make an appearance, but it did. And in a huge way. The trailer showed Doctor strange facing the consequences of messing with the multiverse. Perhaps the biggest takeaway was the mysterious figure that greets Strange after getting arrested. Most agree, this figure is Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Professor X. If this is true, this will officially bring the X-Men into the MCU. Many also speculate that the council Charles Xavier is part of is Marvel’s Illuminati making their MCU debut.

Nope

Super Bowl LVI gave audiences the first look at Jordan Peele’s next film, Nope. Similar to the film’s previous marketing, not much was shown. Enough was shown, however, to build hype for the film. If the marketing received so far is any indication, fans will have very minimal knowledge going into the film. This is an incredibly clever bit of marketing, and hopefully, it will remain throughout the campaign. The trailer shows an impressive cast, such as Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun reacting to something sinister coming from above. The ambiguity makes this one of the best Super Bowl LVI trailers.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2

Super Bowl movie trailers don’t always have to be full-length. Take the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, for example. The trailer simply shows new footage of the impending showdown between the titular hedgehog and Knuckles the Echidna. The rivalry between the two looks explosive and fun. The trailer also features a closer look at the returning Jim Carrey as Dr. Eggman. To many, Carrey was the best part of the first film. The first film was a surprise hit, especially after the infamous first trailer. Fans know what to expect this time around. What they expect is a fun film full of laughs and heart.

DC Trailers Showcase

While no full-length trailers for DC’s upcoming film slate were shown, fans got some quick glimpses at some forthcoming flicks. Fans finally got their first official look at Dwayne Johnson suited up as Black Adam for the film of the same name. The footage was also shown for the upcoming Aquaman sequel. Perhaps most exciting was footage from The Flash featuring the voice of Michael Keaton as Batman for the first time since Batman Returns in 1992.

Netflix Trailers Showcase

Super Bowl LVI featured an ad from Netflix that boasts an impressive plan. Netflix claims they will release a new original movie every week, and their trailer shows scenes from several of them. Several of these films will have big-name actors attached to them, such as Mark Wahlberg. While most of the trailer was fleeting glimpses at upcoming projects, one movie received the spotlight. The Adam Project staring Ryan Reynolds received its own mini trailer within this trailer, and it is looking to be a great one.

The Lost City

While the Super Bowl didn’t offer the first look at The Lost City or even a full trailer, some new footage was shown. The film is about a romantic novel author played by Sandra Bullock who becomes entangled in a dangerous game with a billionaire played by Daniel Radcliffe. Channing Tatum plays a model who appears on the covers of books, who must act as a real-life hero. The film looks to be a fun and adventurous film with a stacked and talented cast.
