What Do We Know About the Casting of the Super Mario Bros Movie?

Though the film will be fully animated, the voices of the main Super Mario cast are changed with Chris Pratt taking the helm as Mario and Charlie Day as Luigi, the voice cast will be very unique. Anna Taylor-Joy joins them as Princess Peach with Keegan Michael Key appearing as Toad. Alongside castings like Jack Black voicing Bowser and Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong, the character’s dynamic will have an interesting transition. With Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco rounding out the cast as Spike. The film is full of characters from the wider Mario universe.

Though he doesn’t have a direct role, Mario’s voice actor will play a role in the upcoming film. Charles Martinet will be supplying various voice cameos throughout the Super Mario Bros movie. The fresh cast certainly gives some fans a bit of distress over the performance of the actors capturing these characters. The casting announcements certainly feel awkward with still no real teaser or test footage. The film debuts on December 22, 2022.
